Beard, also known as The Soldier, Lieutenant or Nicke, is the tritagonist of Hotline Miami and a playable character in Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number. Though he refers to himself by numerous aliases in Wrong Number as part of a code language (James, Dan, Ben Smith), his real name is unknown.
"Good times never last."
Richter Berg, also known as The Rat, is a side character and an antagonist in Hotline Miami and a playable character in Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number.
He appears as the secondary antagonist of Hotline Miami and returns in Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number as the protagonist of Act 5: Intermission. He is also the penultimate playable character in the game.

Manuel "Manny" Pardo, also known as The Cop or The Detective, is a playable character in Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number. Gameplay-wise, he is the first player character to not wear a mask while killing.
During his story-arc, Manny Pardo is investigating the crimes of the Miami Mutilator while fighting against thugs and Colombian criminals bringing violence to the city. He also serves as an antagonist to the Fans.
"Alright boys! This is it! Tonight we'll be rich! We can do anything we want! The Colombians will have nothing left! They'll learn to fear us! A toast to our new lives! As kings of the street!"
The Son is a playable character in Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number. He is the current leader of the Russian Mafia and took over after his father killed himself during his encounter with Jacket in Hotline Miami.
He is the protagonist for the majority of Act 6: Catastrophe, serving as the final playable character in Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number. He also serves as the main antagonist of The Fans' storyline.
